A Sweet Journey
Sweet Occasions was started in 2019 by me, Sarah Pearson. I was a brand new mom, and had just completed my culinary degree program at Auguste Escoffier Culinary School in Austin, Texas. I was born and raised in Austin, but ended up moving to Bastrop in 2024 with my husband and children to be closer to our family members.
I spent some time during (and after) COVID working as an accountant in the flooring industry and the HAM Radio industry. I learned a great deal of knowledge through my experience managing these accounting departments, but my true passion has always been cooking, baking and creating.
By the end of 2025, I decided that I was fully ready to dive back into my love of culinary arts, and I subsequently left the accounting world to put my full attention on my Texas Cottage Home Bakery.
I am extremely passionate about making all of my confections from scratch and filling them with lots of love and care. I only use top quality ingredients, and I always choose Organic and GMO-free options when they’re available. I make all of my foods and desserts as if I was feeding them all to my own family. I strive to serve my community and build relationships with those around me.
Above all else, I always put my complete trust and faith in God the Almighty Father, and I am so very blessed to have the opportunity to pursue my local family owned business in this wonderful city of Bastrop, Texas.
